My grandpa was actually a dentist and I grew up around dentistry. My mom’s a hygienist. And I worked summers in my grandfather’s office since I was about 10 years old filing papers and helping with sterile and just kind of getting to know the dental office. And as I grew up, I looked at how his career was and his flexibility, how he interacted with his patients.
And it was something that I always was interested in going into healthcare, but just the flexibility with the career, I’m a mom of almost two children and it’s just a great career to be able to balance your family with treating patients with the best care possible. I saw how he interacted with everyone around him and it made me want to go into dentistry. Being able to be there for patients during their big milestones and building that trust alongside my career. So having seen them through weddings and graduations and even funerals, it’s an awesome way to build relationships with patients.
I love coming to work every day, and I think that is true for all of our team. So we’re very excited to be here and we hope that you’re just as excited to be here. We treat you with respect and we’re excited for anyone walking through our door.
Dr. Kellie Kawasaki Brings Passion to Dental Care
Dr. Kellie Kawasaki grew up helping in her grandfather’s dental office. His passion for his work was what inspired her to pursue dentistry. She loved the family atmosphere and energy in the office, along with the precision her grandfather had for his work. She hopes to bring the same energy and passion she grew up around to Sisters Dental.
Dr. Kawasaki was a volleyball player at the University of Oregon, where she majored in general science. She then attended Oregon Health & Science University and graduated with honors. After working in a large group practice, she is excited to join a tight knit practice and foster lasting relationships with patients in the Sisters community. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the Central Oregon Dental Society.
As a lifelong Oregonian, she and her husband Kyle decided to make central Oregon home a few years ago for the outdoor lifestyle. Both enjoy exploring the mountains, lakes, and rivers with their Australian shepherd, Sophie. While not in the office she enjoys playing volleyball and golf, skiing, trail running, and paddle boarding.

On my second day of vacation I was fishing on the Metolius River outside of Sister’s OR. I was 500 miles from home, and my jaw started aching. Two days later I went to Sister’s Dental. without an appointment and in a lot of pain. They were very busy, but, they made room for me. Two hours later I was out and pain free. I have been pain free since. I can’t remember for sure what my Dentists name is, but he was the only dentist in that day. He was one of the best dentists I have ever had in my 66 years. The staff was awesome too. The dental assistant and the front desk all treated me like a king and helped me get back to my vacation. Thank you Sister’s Dehtal..

From walking into the front door and being greeted by the two friendly women at the front desk until I walked out the same door an hour later, I had such a positive experience at Sisters Dental. Each member of their staff makes you feel valued. Their new office is beautiful with a feeling of bringing the outside in with windows that look out on beautiful peaceful garden areas and gorgeous photos on their walls of incredible scenery. Ashley the dental hygienist, was efficient, knowledgeable and skilled all the while making me feel comfortable. The cleaning of my teeth was made even more comfortable with the video of beautiful scenery being played above my chair. I felt totally safe during my visit with all the procedures in place to prevent infection during the Covid 19 pandemic. I can’t say enough about the positive experience I had at Sisters Dental during my August 2020 appointment.

The key to a great relationship with your dentist is one of trust and honesty. Dr. Frideres and the staff at Sisters Dental treat you like family. They are professionals who take the time to talk to you and ensure that you understand your treatment. Dr. Frideres is a genuine artist who takes pride is his work and will ‘do it over’ to make it right if necessary. For that he earns style points from me. He has a great sense of humor and is quick to help. My advice is to make Sisters Dental the ‘Go To’ dental practice for your care.

I have to say the drive to Sisters is worth it, Dr. Trevor is so down to earth and authentic and makes going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. I LOVE Sisters Dental! And; I have always hated to go to the Dentist! I have lived in 4 different states in my 60 years and have been recommended to many Dentists to help me with my fear of Dental work, and I can say that Dr. Frideres at Sisters Dental is the FIRST DENTIST that I truly feel comfortable doing my Dental work. I have had severe dental anxiety for the last decade or so, like in tears sitting in the chair anxiety. I hadn’t been to the dentist in 7 years and was terrified for my first visit but knew I needed to get some work done and take care of myself.
When I came in for my first consultation, Dr. Trevor and his team were so comforting and took the time to listen to my fears around teeth sensitivity. After an initial consultation and cleaning, I had to get two fillings and two crowns done. Yikes! Dr. Trevor and his team took their team and checked in with me throughout the whole prcedure.
At my appointment to get my permanent crowns on, I felt a bit of discomfort/pain that set off the waterworks. Dr.Trevor came in, helped calm me down, made sure I was numbed up and couldn’t feel anything to complete the crowns.
If you’re looking for a personable team who is patient-centered, caring, and takes your concerns/fears to heart, then I would HIGHLY recommend Sisters Dental. Best dental experience I have ever had.

This place is AWESOME!! They always step up when issues arise. My husband was waiting for a crown and was in bad pain. They got him in early and took care of the issue. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff and Dr. Trevor Frideres at Sisters Dental. When visiting friends locally I had a dental emergency. Sisters Dental saw me the same day and resolved my issue very quickly and efficiently. Dr Frideres and all the staff were very friendly and helpful and took all the stress out of the situation.
