So one of the common problems that people have with dentures is that they have a hard time staying in place. And that can be important if, say, you like foods that are really sticky, taffy, bread sometimes. And so you can’t function as well with a denture if it doesn’t have anchorage. And if you’re now missing all of your teeth and we have full dentures, the best thing that we know of today is to use implants in those situations. So we can use implants as anchoring devices to lock the denture onto and give you back that confidence and that strength of your bite, knowing that your denture won’t lift off or it won’t come loose or you won’t have to worry about it and have it function a lot like regular teeth.
A lot of times we hear patients who say, “Oh, I never wear my dentures,” or, you know, “I only put them on to smile. They don’t feel good because they’re moving around.” And I think that’s true for a lot of patients. And so when we add implants into the situation, we don’t have that complaint anymore. 10 out of 10, anybody who transitions from having a complete denture into using implants to retain that denture or help anchor it down, every patient says, “This is amazing. I finally can chew. I finally can keep my denture in place. I don’t know why I didn’t do this before.”
